Why a Catio?
Indoor cats live longer - but they still crave fresh air, sunshine, and the thrill of watching the world go by. A catio gives them exactly that, without the risks of roads, predators, or wandering neighbours' gardens.
Every Day2Day Catio is built from pressure-treated timber and 1.6mm galvanised steel mesh, designed to keep your cats safe for years. Choose from our flatpack range and assemble at home, or let us design a fully bespoke build to fit your space.

FAQ
Does a catio need planning permission?
In most cases, no. Catios typically fall under permitted development as a temporary or ancillary garden structure. However, if you live in a listed building, conservation area, or your catio would be unusually large, it's worth checking with your local planning authority first. Our flatpack catios are freestanding or wall-mounted structures that don't require foundations.
Is the mesh strong enough to keep my cat safe?
Yes. All our catios use 1.6mm galvanised steel mesh, securely fastened to the timber frame. It's strong enough to contain any domestic cat and durable enough to withstand years of outdoor weather. We're happy to send a free mesh sample if you'd like to see and feel the quality before ordering.
How long does assembly take?
Most customers have their catio assembled in 1–2 hours. Everything arrives flat-packed with all fixings and clear instructions included. You'll need an electric screwdriver or drill to screw the panels together, and a second pair of hands for the larger sizes. Don't fancy doing it yourself? A local handyman can typically put it together in under an hour for around £50–80.
Will it hold up in bad weather?
Absolutely. The timber is pressure-treated for long-term outdoor use and the galvanised mesh is rust-resistant. Our catios are designed to stay outside year-round in typical UK weather. Several customers have added their own plastic roofing sheets for extra shelter from rain - the solid timber frame provides a sturdy surface to screw into, making it straightforward to add a roof if you choose to.
Can I extend my catio later?
Yes - that's the beauty of the modular design. Our panel system means you can add extra sections to make your catio larger as needed. If you're thinking about future expansion, just let us know when ordering and we can advise on the best starting configuration.
